~another renewal of review from http://yukihime05.blogdrive.com/ xD. I watched this movie last year, June 3, 2008.
This movie was based from a shoujo manga by mangaka Yazawa Ai. This movie is really great though it has some ecchi scenes XD. The story was great, when two girls who have the same age, and also have the same NAME, meet in a train by chance, and after a string of coincidences, they come to live together in an apartment numbered 707. Nakashima Mika’s debut in acting and she was so great! Not bad for a beginner and she did justify the characters image, she really look like Nana O. I’ve just known Mika because of Gundam Seed’s 3rd Ending Song entitled “Find The Way”. Miyazaki Aoi is so cute, that she did a great job portraying Komatsu Nana! I love her! Now, I’ am now a fan of Mika and Aoi ^ ^… I can’t believe Ken’ichi is here. Ken’ichi is the popular actor who played the role of L in Death Note. Though he didn’t justified Shin’s image for being a runaway teenager. Ryuhei Matsuda also did a good job for portraying Ren Honjo. Yuna Ito, I can say WHOA! She speaks English perfectly (Ofcourse she grew up in US). I really love her voice, that sweet and mellow voice, though her appearance was limited. And I really thought Reira was an enemy which will having a love triangle between Ren and Nana O. lol.
I’ve just read one chapter of the Nana manga, It was not shown in the movie the part where Komatsu Nana (Hachi) and Takumi is doing this lovey dovey thing.
When I heard the “Endless Story” by Reira featuring Yuna Ito, i became curious about the story of NANA. I so love Yuna Ito’s Endless Story. No wonder it became hit in Japan next to Mika’s Glamorous Sky.
Over All, I love the movie. I love it when I see Mika and Yuna sings. I love the storyline. I love the cast, this was my first time to see a live action adaptation of a manga/anime which really essembles the cast from manga/anime characters. I love the theme songs. Over all the movie was good. They sure did a great job!
I’ am looking forward for the part 2. It was sad to know that Aoi was not the one who will played as Nana / Hachi and also Ryuhei will not be play his role as Ren. Also Ken’ichi who played Shin was given to Hongo Kanata is it because of Death note?.
